De-Stressing Is A Breeze…
Put Your Mind At Ease.
The good news is, there are some simple, yet powerful techniques which you can use to SLOW YOU DOWN. They will bring calmness and clarity to your mind, and release the tensions held in your physical body, leaving you feeling lighter, happier and strengthened.
We are very fortunate living on the beautiful Central Coast, to have an added advantage for our de-stressing regime, as nature is the perfect environment for our mind and bodies to revert to their more natural, slower paced state.
So choose your preferred piece of paradise. Be it one of the many glorious beaches, bushland settings or the stillness of a lake, just being there is guaranteed to stop your mind racing about at it will start to focus on the beauty of your surroundings.
RELAX… and breathe fully. Try not to force the breath, but feel it start way down at your tailbone, gently filling your abdomen and then up into your collarbones. As you exhale, feel the tension releasing from your muscles.
WALK… along the seashore and let the sound of the waves soothe your mind. Focus on the vastness of the ocean and the world that lies beyond. It’s amazing how insignificant some of our problems become when they are put into perspective. Walking along the sand is also a great work out for the legs and wonderful for shaping those calves!
SWIM… if the water is so inviting that you cannot resist. A dip in the ocean is one of the most revitalizing and energizing things that I have found. It literally washes away your worries.
STRETCH… Yoga is one of the most beneficial practices for mind, body and soul that I have come across, and you don’t have to know advanced techniques to benefit. Yoga has many simple postures and breathing exercises, making it accessible for most people.
It works well on a mental level by focusing, and thereby quietening your mind. A quiet mind has a better ability to hear what is going on for you. It also trains your mind and helps develop a stronger metal resolve. On a physical level, it allows the muscles to both release tension and also to develop strength and endurance. On a spiritual level, your heightened awareness may take you beyond your physical and mental states to give you a glimpse of the real you. A yoga practice will leave you feeling light, strong and energized. And de-stressed!
TIME… is always going to be the enemy in our bid to remain stress free. Our desire for a healthy mind and body comes from the fact that IT FEELS GOOD. It has a direct positive effect on our performance and our behaviour, meaning that those around us will also benefit indirectly. So if you find that you simply cannot afford to devote this time and effort toward your health, consider whether you can really afford not to.
ENJOY… every moment. If you try to live in the present moment as much as possible, then each moment enjoyed forms a joyous life!

Are you noticing it?
The days, months, and years are passing by more quickly. Our pace of life is escalating, and with it our stress levels are rising. And the demands of ‘just keeping up’ in today’s society are often taking toll on our health.
When stress levels rise, our ability to function suffers, often resulting in feelings of anxiety and irritability, a lack of motivation, and a host of physical ailments. Some of the physical symptoms might include muscular aches and pains, headaches, and nausea in more severe cases.
